Goal! Sort of.

Well, if I count my two footnotes, I'm at 5,000 words. If I don't count those footnotes (and Word isn't counting them), I'm at 4902. My goal for the day was 5,000 but I hit a natural stopping point and, to be honest, my back HURTS, so I'm done for the day. But I think I'll hit my 10,000 word goal by the end of the month and will, then, have if not a full chapter draft, at least something very close to it. That puts me at three out of four major chapters drafted. Not too shabby.

How're the rest of you doing?

I had no idea you had 3 of 4 chapters drafted-- that's great Ab!

Well, three of four if I finish this one. That's drafted, though, emphasis on the "draft." One is in good shape, two are, hmmmm, less so, but, humility aside, thanks, I'm pretty happy about it. How's THAT for a sentence?

Way to be productive, Abby!

I think that sentence could only be written by a rhetorician.

I've finished revising 2 chapters (and I gave them both to my advisor, too). My goal for the month was to revise three, so I have to finish this week, and really before Friday, since I have a far-away job interview this weekend! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, about everything.

Good for you, Suzanne! Lots of productivity AND a job interview. I bask in the light of your impressiveness and wish you much much luck on both counts. Kick some ass.

Sorry, just saw this last comment. I had a severely ruptured disc in my L4-L5 area that I had surgery on (a microdiscectomy), but I know what you mean about dissertation-related back pain!
