Trying

Hi all. Just a quick note to let you know that I'm working, but not so much on my dissertation. The job market takes a good chunk of time, more than I was maybe anticipating. So I haven't been doing a whole lot of writing on it lately. I've been working like a crazy people (and you know how productive crazy people are), but the diss is stalled. I'm hoping to get back on the chapter horse in mid February. But I'll be checking back in.

Best of luck to all of you.

Hey, Abby! I am so curious to know how the job search is going for you. I know the search is a lot to prepare for (and I followed along on your blog), but when you have more time, maybe you could post something here about that? A lot of us will be going on the market next time around, and you could be our mentor. :-) If you would.

I'm on the job market too, and it's decimated my writing time. Hope you get back on the horse quicker than I do, Abby!

And congrats on reaching your goal yesterday, Billie!

Decimated my writing time. That's the perfect way to put it Suzanne. And good luck to you!

Billie, I think all of us from DBC who are on the job market would be happy to post about it . . . once we've accepted a job. Right now it feels too risky and public.

Maybe I shouldn't speak for others, but that's how it feels for me. But once this process is "over," one way or another, I'd be happy to write about my experience.

No, Abby, I completely understand!!! Keep it guarded, then after it's over, if you are so inclined, you (and Suzanne and others) can pass along words of wisdom to those of us who go up next year. I'm so in awe of you all going on the market AND writing. Massively impressive.
